Ethiopia Taps Huduma Kenya Expertise to Scale Up One-Stop Public Service Model
Ethiopia is exploring the rollout of a one-stop-shop model, inspired by Kenya. The delegation led by Ethiopian Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Demeke Atnafu, visited Huduma Kenya to benchmark and learn from its integrated service model. The team was received by Mr. Ben Kai Chilumo, CEO of Huduma Kenya at the Huduma Kenya Secretariat offices in Nairobi.The Ethiopian delegation, comprising of officials from the Civil Service Commission, held discussions on bilateral collaboration and visited key Huduma centres—including the GPO, Secretariat, and Tele-Counseling Centre, to observe operations first hand. Ethiopia has already piloted a similar model, dubbed MESOB, in Addis Ababa, and is now evaluating strategies to scale it nationwide.
Amb. Atnafu expressed gratitude for the insights shared during the visit, which will inform Ethiopia’s ongoing reforms in public service delivery.
